Shanghai Ranking

In 2020, the University of Sadat City (USC) has joined for the first time in Shanghai Ranking.

The University of Sadat City has succeeded to achieve a significant accomplishment by joining Shanghai Ranking for Global Universities in the field of Veterinary Sciences, which is known as “The Academic Ranking of World Universities” that ranks only the first 500 universities in the world.

While Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – University of Sadat City has ranked as 201-300 top Faculties internationally, and 7-9 top Faculties among the Egyptian Faculties for Veterinary Sciences. Shanghai Ranking 2020 release contains rankings of universities in 54 subjects across Natural Sciences, Engineering, Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, and Social Sciences. In total, more than 4000 universities were ranked.

Shanghai Ranking Consultancy is a fully independent organization dedicating to research on higher education intelligence and consultation. Shanghai Ranking Consultancy began to publish rankings of world universities by academic subjects in 2009. The first batch of rank subjects are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Economics/Business. It then took Shanghai Ranking 7 years to extend the subject rankings to cover seven engineering subjects in 2016.

Shanghai Ranking assigns several weights of its 5^th criteria and indicators related to different fields that rely on; publishing research in internationally indexed journals according the American platform “Web of Science & InCites”, standardized information on citations - is the ratio of citation to researches published in an academic discipline to the average of citations from other researches in the same category – as well as the International cooperation - is the number of joint researches by at least two different countries divided by the total number of research papers in the academic specialization of the university – , The number researches published in the most important journals, The number of awarded researchers selected by Clarivate Analytics.
