The president of the University of Sadat City attends the celebration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Fulbright Commission at the American Embassy
Dr. Shaden Moawe, president of the University of Sadat City, witnessed the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the "Fulbright Commission”, in a historic ceremony at the American embassy, where 75 years of academic giving to the Fulbright Commission in Egypt. The American ambassador Hiro Mustafa Garg held a high-level reception attended by a selection of Egyptian academic and cultural leaders. The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, Dr. Maggie Nassif, executive director of the American Fulbright Commission, Dr. Ayman Farid Hamza, Assistant Minister for strategic planning, training, and qualification for the labor market, along with a selection of university presidents and prominent figures in the fields of culture, arts and the business sector, artist Hussein Fahmy, archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawas. This occasion represents a milestone in the history of Egyptian-American academic cooperation, as the establishment of the Fulbright Commission in Egypt dates back to 1949 through a cooperation protocol between the ministries of foreign affairs of the two countries, and over 75 years, the commission has provided a variety of fully funded programs, including student training programs in various fields, grants for graduate studies and post-graduate research. The commission programs were distinguished by their focus on academic and professional development, with special attention to strengthening Egyptian university cadres' administrative and organizational capabilities, which supported the March of higher education and scientific research in Egypt for three-quarters of a century. "Moawe" praised the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, headed by Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, chairman of the Fulbright Commission in Egypt, in the innovation and entrepreneurship axis, to enhance the innovation environment and support entrepreneurship among students and graduates, and enhance cooperation between universities and industry to contribute to solving societal challenges, and its importance in supporting the national economy, stressing the need to continue in tireless work to develop the higher education system to keep pace with the requirements of the age and strengthen the capabilities of young people, promote entrepreneurship among students and graduates, support start-ups. The president of the University of Sadat City also expressed her happiness to participate in the events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Fulbright Commission, praising the programs offered by the commission, which effectively contribute to conducting research, gaining experience, and coordinating the joint efforts of the bodies represented on the board of directors from the Egyptian and American sides, valuing the role of educational and cultural exchange programs such as Fulbright And new knowledge benefits our society. Muawiya added that the Fulbright Commission always holds virtual introductory seminars every year about its programs to finance studies in America, as well as its participation last year in a workshop forum with businessmen, industry and academics at the University of Sadat City , organized by the Center for internationalization and global participation and the Professional Development Center in the presence of Dr. Maggie Nassif, CEO of Fulbright, and that the University of Sadat City Ways of permanent cooperation with the Fulbright Commission in order to develop scientific research and improve the quality of the educational process and the constant pursuit of the development of the human element and keep abreast of global scientific developments in various fields within the framework of the adoption of the strategy of the University towards internationalization, pointing out that the Fulbright Commission enjoys a distinguished leading position for Egyptians to study and conduct research and professional training in the United States of America in addition to scholarships for American students and professors to teach and conduct research in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
