An important archaeological discovery was made after the cooperation between the University of Sadat City and the University of Manchester

 A joint excavation mission between the University of Sadat City and the University of Manchester resulted in a new archaeological exploration that revealed the ruins of the city of "EMET" in Sharqiyah governorate.

The joint efforts resulted in 
-the disclosure of Tower houses (multi-storey) silos for storing grain and shelters for animals 
-the disclosure of the ceremonial route of the Wachit temple

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has announced the new archaeological discovery in the area of Tell al-Pharaoh (Tell Nabisha) in the Husseiniya Center in Sharqiya governorate, at the end of the current excavation season, which was carried out by the British archaeological mission from the University of Manchester.

The monument showed that “tower houses are found mainly in the Nile delta between the late and the Roman era, and they are rare elsewhere in Egypt". "Its existence shows that Emet was a prosperous and densely built city with a complex urban infrastructure.

Additional finds include a paved area for grain processing and animal barns, indicating an active local economy along with its religious significanceElsewhere, the prospectors found a large building with a lime plaster floor and massive columns dating back to the middle of the Ptolemaic era.
