
The University of Sadat City participated under the patronage of Dr. Shaden Muawiya, president of the University, under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Azab, general supervisor of the community service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, and the implementation of Dr. Azza Al-Omari, director of the Center for students with disabilities at the University, with the active participation of the center's members, in the second sports festival for persons with disabilities, organized by Benha University from August 31 to September 13, 2025, with the participation of 185 students from 11 Egyptian universities from the Universities of the Delta region and Cairo.
The festival witnessed strong competitions in several sports, including weightlifting, athletics, futsal, and table tennis, in addition to the student and ideal student competitions.
The students at the University of Sadat City achieved honorable achievements, where they won 6 different medals, which came as follows:
* Athletics.
- gold medal: Hagar Haizi- Faculty of Education for early childhood (100m race).
- silver medal: Heidi Samir- Faculty of Education (100m race).
- bronze medal: Amal Magdy- Faculty of Commerce (Gula Pushing).
- bronze medal: Adam Ramadan- Faculty of Law (100m race).
* Weightlifting
- bronze medal: Abdullah Mohammed Abdullah- Faculty of Law (visual impairment).
- bronze medal: Zeinab Al-maasrawi- Faculty of Law.
Dr. Shaden Muawiya pointed out: "The University of Sadat City does not consider the participation of its students with disabilities as just a sports activity, but an essential part of its mission to build an inclusive university that embraces all students without exception. We believe that empowering our students with disabilities is a real investment in their potential, which is reflected on the whole society. These sporting achievements confirm that excellence is not related to physical ability alone, but to the will and support that the university provides to its students."
Dr. Azab added: "At the University of Sadat City, we are working on developing an integrated system to support students of determination, starting from providing appropriate educational tools inside the classrooms, and extending to the design of sports and cultural activities that allow them to express their abilities. The success of our students in this festival proves that integration is not a slogan, but a realistic practice that we are keen to apply daily."
For her part, Student Hajer Haizi, the winner of the gold medal in the 100m race, expressed her happiness with this achievement, saying: "my participation in the festival was a great experience, not only to win a medal, but because it allowed me to express my abilities and prove that students of determination are capable of excellence and competition.
