
On Wednesday the 7th of September, the General Administration of Environmental Projects in cooperation with the Environmental Studies and Research Institute organized “Go Green Campaign” which comes within the initiative launched by H.E. President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
This campaign was held under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Gaafar – Acting President of the University and the Vice Dean of the University for Community Services and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Alhwaity – Vice Dean of the Environmental Studies and Research Institute and Dr. Mohamed Mounir – Director of Environmental Projects.
During the activities of the event, Dr. Khaled declared that; “the importance of raising the environmental awareness as one of the principles of the Go Green initiative, and the protection is to preserve what surrounds us of soil, water and air, in order to confront climate change, and so on the University will be Eco-Friendly”, he also added; “Dissemination of environmental concepts requires collaborative efforts to achieve the goals of the initiative and maintain the sustainability of the use of natural resources for future generations.
At the end of the event, USC’s President and the accompanying team are planted a group of fruitful trees in the New University Campus at the 500 acres, and about 350 trees of fruit trees were planted in the various units of the university in terms of the university role that plays to spread environmental awareness.
