The president of the University witnesses the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities

Dr. Shaden Muawiya, president of the University of Sadat City, witnessed today, Monday, the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, chaired by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Mr. Mohammed Abdel Latif, Minister of education, and Dr. Mustafa Refat, Secretary of the council and members of the council, at the headquarters of the Ministry of higher education in the new administrative capital.

Dr. Shaden Muawiya, president of the university, stated that the council reviewed many important topics at the start of the new academic year. It approved the start of study for the bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Science, University of Sadat City, starting from the academic year 2024/2025.

Dr. Shaden Muawiya, president of the University, stated that the minister of Higher Education directed the following: -
- Universities should implement various student activity plans.
- Universities continue to support and discover talented, brilliant, and innovative students and provide all necessary support to them.
- Intensify the implementation of awareness and educational seminars for students with various challenges.
- Activate the role of regional alliances signed between universities and productive institutions                  - Increasing the community participation of universities within the Presidential Initiative "a new beginning for building a human being"

 
The minister of Higher Education praises:
- The presence of a large number of Egyptian scientists in Stanford University's list of the top 2% of the most cited scientists in the world

The council approves:
- The start of study for The Bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Science, University of Sadat City
- The start of study for The Bachelor's degree at the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery, Sohag University
 
Dr. Ayman Ashour stressed the need for universities to implement various student activities plans (sports, artistic, cultural, and social) and support students with talents, pointing out that student activities are one of the most important foundations of the educational system, which aims to strengthen and support the team spirit, consolidate human ties, and document them among students, and one of the most important ways to integrate students into society.

The Minister constantly confirms the active role of universities in the implementation of the Presidential Initiative for Human Development (a new beginning for Human building) through executive plans, time programs, and performance indicators.
 
The minister stressed the importance of universities’ support and discovering talented, brilliant, and innovative students, providing all necessary support to them, receiving their research and innovative ideas, and working on developing them, the matter which contributes to transforming their innovative ideas into competitively marketable products, and help create marketing opportunities for them.
 
The minister directed the implementation of awareness and educational seminars for students on various challenges to confront concepts and ideas that contradict the tolerant religious beliefs and the authentic cultural and societal legacies of the Egyptian people.
 
The minister also directed to intensify the organization of field visits to the national projects that are being implemented; in order to enable students to get acquainted with the volume of projects that are being implemented in various sectors throughout the republic.
 
The minister also stressed the importance of activating the role of regional alliances signed between universities and productive and industrial institutions, implementing the plan of regional alliances to support scientific research for industry and the national economy, facing the challenges at different geographical regions at the level of the Republic, and supporting the transformation of educational institutions into innovative institutions that contribute to attracting distinguished scientific cadres, in implementation of the Presidential Initiative "alliance and development", which has the support and patronage of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in line with achieving the objectives of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research.
 
The minister also constantly drew the universities ' attention to community participation in cooperation with the "Decent Life" initiative by launching medical, veterinary, and agricultural convoys, organizing educational seminars and events, various activities, working on capacity-building, and making more efforts in all health, environmental, veterinary and social fields.
 
The minister stressed the importance of increasing the efforts of the universities in the literacy file in cooperation with the General Authority for Adult Education; to activate the role of universities in community service and environmental development.
 
The minister thanked the university presidents and their deputies for their active role in facilitating the electronic coordination procedures of public universities at various stages, by opening computer labs to students, providing them with the necessary technical support during the selection of their wishes, as well as periodic follow-up of students ' performance for aptitude tests at various colleges.
 
The minister praised the appearance of a large number of Egyptian scientists in Stanford University's list of the top 2% of the most cited scientists in the world, in various disciplines, congratulating them for their scientific excellence and brilliance. The minister pointed out the need for universities to continue to provide support to researchers to increase scientific publication in prestigious scientific journals; to upgrade the ranking of Egyptian universities in the major international rankings.
 

The council listened to a report on the most prominent activities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the month of September, led by Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, the graduation ceremony of the first batch of students of private universities 2024 (King Salman International, Alamein international, Her Majesty), in the presence of a number of ministers, university presidents, and public figures, at the Egyptian Museum the big one.
 
The report pointed out that Dr. Mustafa Madbouly opened the headquarters of Badia University in 6 October City.
 
Dr. Ayman Ashour also participated in the "Digital Learning Week 2024" conference in Paris, to review the pioneering experience of the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, which contributed to providing free access to educational services for students, teachers, and researchers, in addition to visiting the largest global Center for startups in France (Station F); to enhance the innovation system and facilitate the growth of startups in Egypt. A meeting was held with the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Open Classrooms Foundation for e-learning to discuss ways to benefit from the foundation's expertise in the field of Information Technology, Marketing, and e-courses.
 
The president of the Federal Republic of Germany and the minister of Higher Education and scientific research witnessed the official opening ceremony of the headquarters of the German International University "GIU" in the new administrative capital, and a protocol of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of higher education, scientific research and technological development was signed.
 
Dr. Ayman Ashour also witnessed the signing of contracts with several British qualification and classification bodies, including the British Royal College of Surgeons, the Association of Chartered Accountants, and the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technology, to open its headquarters in Egypt; to provide accredited training programs to provide the necessary skills for graduates of Egyptian universities, develop the curricula of Egyptian universities, as well as cooperation in training lecturers Providing consultations to Egyptian universities in the field of Curriculum Development and implementing several joint programs in continuing education and graduate studies with Egyptian universities.
 
Dr. Ayman Ashour opened a workshop to launch the second batch of the Egyptian Pioneers and Scientists program, and the minister also witnessed the reception of new batches of several grant programs provided by the United States of America, where graduates of the "pioneers and scientists" program, the Centers of Excellence for agriculture and water, the grants program emanating from the Egypt - USA initiative and the University Grants program were celebrated
 
The minister also received a delegation from the British Times Foundation to research the rankings of Egyptian universities. He also held a meeting with the delegation of the International Labor Organization to discuss ways to enhance the cooperation.
 
Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and official spokesman of the ministry, stated that the council approved the amendment of some provisions of the executive regulations of the universities organization law, on the conditions for obtaining a master's degree in computer and information faculties at Egyptian universities, provided that the necessary legal measures are taken in this regard.
