Dr. Shaden Muawiya, president of the University of Sadat City, participated today, Sunday, the third of November in a conference "from the laboratory to the market" at Conrad Cairo Hotel, in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, Mohammed Gibran, Minister of Labor, and A.Sean Jones, director of the USAID Mission in Egypt, Dr. Maggie Nassif, executive director of the Fulbright Commission Egypt, Ambassador Hiro Mustafa Garg, ambassador of the United States of America to Egypt, in addition to the presence of several ministerial and business leaders of leading companies from the business development, Human resources and corporate social responsibility departments.
During the conference and its sub-sessions, several different topics were discussed, such as sustainability and climate change, Economic Development, Public Health, business development, innovation and entrepreneurship, tourism, heritage, art, and the role of Humanities in preparing cadres, in addition to workshops and panel discussions, representing an ideal platform for exchanging ideas and transforming research into practical products and services that achieve the concept of sustainable development.
Dr. Ayman Ashour praised the fruitful cooperation between Egypt and the United States in the field of higher education and scientific research, and expressed his pride in the programs that provide excellent educational opportunities for students, pointing to the importance of scholarships in promoting social and economic development, and providing students with the skills they need for the labor market, stressing the role of these programs in supporting innovation, and providing an educational environment that encourages creativity and keeping up with modern technology contribute to building a new generation of leaders who can face challenges and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The minister explained the importance of linking scientific research with market requirements, and that the conference represents a vital platform for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between academics and businessmen and stimulates investment in new ideas that stem from our research, which contributes to supporting the national economy, and provides the appropriate environment for researchers and innovators to transform knowledge into real opportunities.
For her part, Dr. Shaden Muawiya praised the efforts of the professors of the University of Sadat City, who were included in the list of the best 2% of the world's scientists in the main and sub-specialties of the university, praising their efforts in scientific research and raising the name and status of the University in international forums, stressing the university supports research projects to support the national economy and the vision of the state towards sustainable development and the vision of Egypt 2030.
Dr. Shaden Muawiya stressed the importance of continuous and mutual cooperation between the University of Sadat City, the Fulbright Commission, and international scientific bodies to create scientific opportunities and grants for faculty members and young researchers in all disciplines at the university to open research fields that contribute to enhancing the scientific research at the university and increase the chances of the progress of the University of Sadat City in international rankings, praising the prominent role played by the Fulbright Commission, from contributions to the development of the educational process, scientific research, youth support, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, and effective contribution to the economic development of society.
It is worth mentioning that the Fulbright Commission in Egypt is one of the oldest and largest organizations in the Middle East. It was established under an international cooperation protocol between the two countries, which was signed on November 3, 1949, to manage and facilitate all the affairs of educational and cultural exchange programs between the two countries, and the commission provides a large number of grants and scholarships for Egyptian and American researchers, in all fields For graduate students, researchers, and professionals.
