Digital Library Unit and libraries mechanization considered one of the projects of the information and communication technology projects in higher education institutions (ICTP).
 

The Digital Library project consists of the following four themes:

• Consolidated Index Project.
• Digital repository project.
• Digital publishing project.
• Digital Library Project.
   

So, the Supreme Council of Universities seeks to develop the Egyptian universities and raise their competitive potential between the Arab and international universities through many development projects, that are being implemented in universities and the Supreme Council of Universities.
