  • USC’s Vice president for PG studies announces about 20 Grant

      Prof. Dr. Rifai Ibrahim Rifai – Vice President for Postgraduate studies and Research – announced about, 20 Education Grant provided by National Commission for Education, Science and Culture.

      Egyptian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture and Renewable Energy Development Center announced about 20 fellowships for one month duration: from 3 to 28 October 2016.

  • Stamatis Douzinas Scholarship 2016

      The University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Prof. Dr. Rifai Ibrahim Rifai - announced about The Stamatis Douzinas Scholarship program from TITAN Cement Egypt 

      To support Egyptian young professionals to pursue a Master’s degree at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna. Criteria 

      • Four Scholarships will be awarded to four Egyptian citizens - Two for residents from Beni Suef - Two for residents from Alexandria 
      • Maximum age: 30 years · Graduates from the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering , and Mining Engineering 
      • Overall Bachelor’s grade to be “very good” 
      • Applying for the Master’s programs in - M.Sc. Energy Engineering - M.Sc. Water Engineering

  • Scholarships in Applied Mathematics at Zewail City for Science and Technology

      Prof. Dr. / Rifai Ibrahim Rifai – the vice president for post graduate studies and research – announced about the PH.D scholarships at Zewail City for Science and Technology in Computational Mathematics.

       

      It includes the specialties: Computational Mathematics and quantum computing, and it is required for admission to the scholarships:

       Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics or Computer Science with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

      A Master of Science degree is preferred, but not mandatory.

      TOEFL with a minimum score of 80 or IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5.

      GRE test with a minimum score of 300.

  • 2017 FULBRIGHT JUNIOR FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR EGYPT

      The Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs Prof. Dr. Rifai Ibrahim Rifai announced about the 2017 Fulbright Junior Faculty Development Program will bring young professors from Egypt to U.S. institutions for faculty development, mentoring, and cultural exchange activities in the fields of Renewable Energy and Engineering, Teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), and Public Health from July 5 through September 13, 2017. During this 10 week program, professors will be introduced to new teaching and research methods, observe classes, attend seminars, and develop linkages with American faculty through weekly mentoring sessions. On-going community engagement with university-identified host families, volunteers, or others in the broader local community will facilitate the professors’ participation in outreach activities, including visits to historical sites and attendance at cultural events. While introduction to new research methods in the scholars’ disciplines does constitute one component of the Fulbright Junior Faculty Development Program, the program is not intended to provide a venue for individual research projects.



       

      The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.


       

      Objectives:

      • Build higher education capacity in Egypt through faculty development and mentoring for junior professors.
      • Foster long-term collaboration and institutional linkages between Egyptian and U.S. academics.
      • Promote mutual understanding between Egyptians and Americans by facilitating the scholars’ engagement with the broader host campus community.


       

      Eligible Fields (Applicants from Egypt can only apply in one of the following fields):

      • Renewable Energy and Engineering (Solar, Wind, Hydro-electric, Biofuel, Geothermal): Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering as related specifically to Renewable Energy (does not include Petroleum or Nuclear energy/engineering fields).
      • Public Health: Epidemiology, Nutritional Science, Health Care Administration, Family and Community Health, Occupational Health.
      • TEFL/Linguistics: TEFL, TESOL, Linguistics (does not include literature, American literature, American studies)

       



       

      Eligibility Criteria:

      • Resident and citizen of Egypt.
      • U.S. citizens and holders of U.S. green cards/passports are ineligible.
      • Full-time Egyptian faculty member at an Egyptian university or other institution of higher learning in Egypt (must be a degree granting institution, offering at least a bachelor’s degree).
      • Must be residing in Egypt at the time of application submission and throughout the interview and selection phases leading up to the date of departure.
      • Minimum of MA/MS degree with at least five years of university-level teaching experience, or a PhD and no more than five years of university-level teaching experience after having received the PhD degree.
      • MA/MS degree holders currently enrolled in a doctoral program must possess at least three years of university-level teaching experience.
      • Excellent command of English.
      • Commitment to classroom teaching and desire to strengthen teaching and leadership skills.
      • Scholar’s academic focus must be in one of the program’s offered academic discipline cohorts.
      • Must be available to travel to the United States and participate for the duration of the program July 5 – September 13, 2017.
      • Egyptian government officials are ineligible


       

      Preference will be given to applicants without significant experience in the United States.

      • Furnished, individual apartment-style housing.
      • Travel and accommodations for a re-entry workshop to be hosted in Washington, D.C.
      • Round-trip international airfare to the U.S.

  • Scholarships provided by the Fulbright Commission for Egyptian students 2017 / 2018

      The US Fulbright Commission in Cairo announced about scholarships presented to the Egyptian students for the year 2017/2018 to obtain a master's degree and those wishing to do research and the vocational at the United States of America, and the program includes the following scholarships:

      - Scholarships for a master's degree: The duration of the study a maximum of two years for those wishing to complete their higher studies in the following areas: (Science - Technology - Engineering - Mathematics - agriculture - economy).

      - Scholarships not meant to get a degree: For those wishing to do research and the duration of the scholarship is six to nine months.

      - Scholarships of Fine Arts and Applied Arts: Arts graduates who are interested in the implementation of their research or attend master classes for a period of six ah nine months.

      Japanese Embassy in Cairo announced about fellowships for Egyptian students who interested in studying and learning the Japanese language in japan, while the Embassy will accept the application till 21 Feb 2016.

  • Scholarships provided by Denmark for the academic year 2016/2017

      The central administration of missions announced about opening the door to apply for scholarships offered by Denmark under executive program between the two countries for the purpose of gathering the necessary master's or doctoral scientific material for the academic year 2016/2017.

      The scholarships extends for a period of 6 months to collect the necessary material for the Master scientific and 8 months to collect the necessary doctoral scientific material, and the fields are multiple of study as follows: -

  • Scholarships provided by Beijing Institute of Technology in China

      Beijing Institute of Technology in China offers a number of scholarships for master and doctoral degrees for the academic year 2016/2017.

      The cost of the scholarship for a master is 3000 Chinese yuan a month, while the scholarship for a PhD 3,500 Chinese yuan a month, note that the deadline to apply for the scholarships is April 15, 2016.

      Eligibility Requirements

      Several standards apply to candidates willing to apply to the grants. The eligibility requirements are:

       

      • Egyptian Scholars must have completed their PhD within the past five years or will be achieved by end of the application year in one of the available fields of study
      • The candidate must be currently working at a public/private academic or research institution in Egypt and the research must be conducted in Egypt.
      • The candidate must be currently engaged or can arrange to work on a joint research project with foreign counterpart(s) at a university or a research center abroad.
      • The candidate must not exceed 35 years by the application year.
      • The candidate must have a valid local TOEFL with a minimum score of 500.
